What are Positive Affirmations?
In simple terms, it is the practice of positive thinking.
It’s a carefully formatted positive statement that is repeated to yourself or written down often.
The statement is positive, present tense, personal and specific.
How to benefit from Positive Affirmations?
Psychologists have found that it’s human nature to release negative self-talk.
Have you ever found yourself fearful about standing in front of an audience to give a presentation?
I know I have !! I hate public speaking … and it’s a fear I have always struggled with.
Negative self-talk can be debilitating in that you convince yourself of all the “Can’ts”, “Don’ts”, “Shouldn’ts” … or anything in a statement that limits your full potential.
By applying affirmations in your life, you can overcome your fears … such as public speaking !
You could say something like … “I am confident and exhibit authority when I speak before others, and they are interested in everything I say.”
Tips on using Positive Affirmations Effectively?
What are your Intentions?
Take some quiet time to yourself to reflect on your ideal life. How is this that you would like to be … that is, what are the behaviors, attitudes and traits you would like to adopt to get you to your ideal life.
Make a List of Positive Statements
What is is that you’re trying to achieve or change in your life? Are you trying to break bad habits? Are you striving for more love and peace? Would you like to get that promotion at work?
Repetition is Key!
With intentions (goals) and a list in hand … begin repeating your affirmations daily. Release the power of affirmations into your life by repeating them first thing the morning, mid-day and prior to going to bed. Your subconscious mind will begin to work these words in your favor.

Self Recorded Affirmations
Affirmations spoken out loud can be very effective. With a voice recorder in hand, repeat your affirmations with a calm voice. You may even want to play soothing and relaxing music in the background to make it more effective. You’ll have your very own custom tailor recordings to listen on your way into work or on your next jog.
Posting affirmations on sticky notes in your often visited places can be a very effective way to ingrain them into your mind. Put the sticky’s in your bathroom mirror, fridge, car, etc.
