Think back to a time when you were successful.
Success leaves clues behind.
One thing that will be evident is that you had made a decision to consistently pursue your goal.
This meant doing the necessary things on a daily basis in order to achieve the required results.
Consistency truly is the mother of all success!
I can think back to when I was just starting Engineering school. Boy, was I committed and consistent!
I was never the natural genius. I really had to work hard at my studies … nothing ever came easy to me in college.
The difference was, I was determined to be at the top of my class and make the Dean’s and President’s List CONSISTENTLY.
I had academic scholarships coming into college, so I had to make sure those scholarships were backed up and protected with good grades.
I remember getting up an hour earlier than everyone else in the dorm rooms … including Saturday and Sunday!
More would get done in that single hour.
Here’s the key though. I was willing to do what others would not on a consistent basis.
Not only did I achieve my goal of making the Dean’s and President’s List … I retained my scholarships, which paid for college … and I graduated at the top of my Mechanical Engineering Class.
Not an easy feat to accomplish at Cal Poly, SLO … which is considered one of the best and hardest engineering schools in the West Coast.
If you’re not where you want to be in life ….
Take the month of December to reflect on the changes you need to make coming into the New Year.
Make Consistency a part of your language and a daily habit.
Apply this to any part of your life. I can assure you Success will be knocking on your door before you know it!
