Last Sunday, May 28th, my daughter turned 7 years old and I’m so grateful we were able to spend it together with her as a family at none other than Legoland located in Carlsbad, California.
This made for a nice day trip as we are only about 40 minutes south of Carlsbad.
The day went fairly quick as they closed the part at 7 pm, but we were able to catch some cool memories.
This post isn’t meant to be some kind of a Legoland Review, but instead it’s meant more to share the awesome day we had as a family at Legoland.
Here are some of the highlights of our day.
The SEA LIFE Aquarium
Right before going into Legoland, we hit up The SEA LIFE Aquarium. Little did I know, but this was by far my favorite attraction of the day (maybe it’s because I’m getting old and not so much into games and rides anymore).
They’ve got a wide variety of fish and different styles of aquariums. My favorite by far was the Shark Tank. We got right when they were cleaning out the tank, so we got to see a few divers swimming with the sharks 🙂
LEGO NINJAGO Ride
This was the first ride we got on after making our way through the gates. Unless you have the Legoland App working on your smartphone (which I never got to work), there is no way of telling how long the line will take. The line appeared short when we got there, but it turned out to take much longer than we anticipated… which was about 1-½ Hrs long. One thing I found out fairly quickly was that most of the lines at Legoland seem to take an awfully long time in comparison to other theme parks.
The ride was pretty cool and did wake us up. It is highly interactive and competitive.
Here’s a YouTube clip of what you can expect.
The LEGO City Models
All I can say is WOW! I was simply blown away by the scale and attention to detail all of the models had.
Two of my favorite City Themes were Star Wars and Washington, DC.
DUPLO Play Area
After a long day of walking, we let the kids play in the DUPLO Play Area. It’s pretty cool that Lego has these interactive centers around the park. It keeps the kids entertained a few minutes while the parents regain their energy.
Just before leaving we let the kids play a few of the Carnival Games. I must say that there wasn’t a large variety of games to choose from, but the kids did enjoy it (which really is the whole point).
Watching the smiles on their faces after winning some prizes was the icing on the cake 🙂
All in all, we have a blast at Legoland, California. It truly made for a memorable birthday and put a huge smile on my daughter’s face. We created many memories that we can look back on and remember as a family. I’m truly grateful for this day and that I’ve been blessed with another year with my daughter.
All The Best,
PS: Have you ever been to Legoland before? I would love to hear about your experience. Please share below 🙂
